Title: Waste Retrieval and UST Decontamination
Client: Dallas Wastewater Treatment Plant
Dallas, Texas
This project involved the removal of several thousand gallons of diesel fuel that was accidentally pumped into a
concrete underground secondary containment vault, with subsequent decontamination of the vault and associated fuel tank system. A vacuum truck and chemical steam
cleaning equipment were used, with personnel operating in a modified Level C Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) environment. Measures were taken to permit recycling of
the waste fuel and to keep the decontamination fluids to a minimum. As a result, ETAS Corporation was able to provide the client with a low budget, quick turn-around
cleanup project that allowed the diesel fuel tank to be put back into operation with little delay.
Accomplishments: At completion of the project, the assistant plant manager praised ETAS
Corporation and it's competent and responsive project team for their excellent workmanship.
